Day 41
was tattooing day. While some breeders are
going for the micro-chip and they'll give all
kinds of reasons why the micro-chip is better, I myself,
prefer the tattoo. You can tell
anytime if the dog is ID'd. Just flip up an ear
and take a peek. With the new micro-chip,
unless you have a reader, you don't even know if
it's been ID'd. Also, on a personal note, I
kind of feel like the whole world is heading
toward micro-chipping people so that our every
move can eventually be tracked - all in the name
of security of course, but what a great way for
government to control it's citizens. So just
to be old-fashioned, I still tattoo my dogs.
If the prospective buyers want them microchipped,
they can easily take the pup to the vet and get it
done after they purchase it.

On Day 42 we headed for town for our Vet
appointment. The pups were given their shots
and a thorough exam to look for any signs of
health problems. All five pups were given the
green light. In the above picture everybody
wanted to get to the front of the kennel to see
out, but nobody wanted to make the first
move. Eventually Kelsey, then Will and then
K took the plunge and came out to check things
out. Below, they all thought this was a good
a place as any for a nap.

Kelsey is missing from the above picture, she had
already gone off to explore the wall
display.
