Disclaimer: At Red Dog we try to give
each and every pertinent detail we can about
our horses. Every horse is in a various
stage of training and we rarely have
"perfect horses" as they are sold
before we even get them listed.
By perfect I mean a horse that has impeccable
ground manners, walks, trots and canters in a
controlled easy going fashion, backs calmly,
gives both it's front and rear to leg
pressure, sidepasses, saddles, bridles and
stands calmly for mounting, loads well, and
can be ridden by any rider with any
experience. Did I miss anything? These
type of horses are far and few between and
this is the goal that we are constantly
working toward with each and every horse that
passes through our yard. Each horse is
at a varying stage to this progression and
some horses don't have what it takes to be
this kind of horse - we try our best to make
sure that each potential buyer knows exactly
at what stage each horse is at. The
perfect horse is priced somewhere between
$2000 (grade
with not much conformation or color) to $8000 for a registered perfect horse
with great conformation and color. All
of our for sale horses are working toward
these goals, but are priced according to the
stage that they are at and the potential they
have to reach our goals for them. We
price horses immediately when they get on the
yard and sometimes your best deal is to buy
the horse before we have time to fully
evaluate it. As we work with the horse,
evaluate it and retrain it the price goes
up. Our
prices do change constantly, but if you wish
to purchase any one of our horses, you can get
us your deposit and we will hold the horse for
you at the current advertised price.
