FAMILY HORSE!
LACEY
is a creamy 1989 Palomino Mare.
She is the ultimate family horse. She is well
broke to ride and can be ridden by all riders.
She is a large enough size for Dad and she is gentle
enough for all but the preschool members of the
family.
Lacey
has one draw back in that she has a health problem
called heaves. It is similar to asthma in
humans. The previous owners attested to the fact
that she has had attacks. Heaves is triggered by
feeding dusty or moldy hay or stabling a horse in a
dusty area, most horses with heaves can lead normal
lives if care is taken to make sure that they are not
put in situations which will aggravate their
condition. In Lacey's case we have ridden her for
as long as three hours, up steep hills and through dusty
fields without any real signs of her condition.
Without this condition Lacey would be worth
between $2200-$3500 dollars
- a normal price for someone buying an all around
dependable mount like her -
however we are asking $1500 for Lacey.
With that we will include a 1 year "health
warranty" whereby if Lacey becomes unusable due
to the heaves condition we will supply the buyer with a
quality foal from our ranch.
For
the most part Lacey exhibits NO SIGNS of illness.
The most we have noticed is a rare cough.
She will be sold with COMPLETE instructions on how to
deal with her illness. Heaves is not a fatal
condition. In extreme cases it restricts a horses
air supply making work hard or impossible - Lacey has a
mild form and it is very controllable with minimal
effort.
This
is a great opportunity for a family that cannot afford
to spend what a good horse is worth - to get a good
horse, with a guarantee.
Lacey
is not registered but we believe she is likely a full
blooded Quarter Horse.
