Major
(Pictured above as a two year old) Was sold to
Chrissy Friesen in Fall 2006. He is
currently at Camp Assiniboine where she is
working on his training. Here's what
Chrissy has to say:
Hi Sharalee,
I saw that Major has a
brother now. I thought you might like to
update his photo. The photos were taken
today. I rode him today and he's coming
along nicely. I'm up to jogging in the arena
and he responds very well to the snaffle bit
I'm using. He has a wonderful disposition
and is a pleasure to work with. I think he's
on the path to becoming a dapple grey
though, which is fine. Last friday Major had
a reaction to a bug bite so my vet
recommended i put him on penicillin for a
few days and the swelling is almost gone, so
I'm happy.

MAJOR'S START AT RED DOG RANCH from
the time he left backward to when he was
foaled.
Major is halter broke, bathed and brushed, is
easy to catch, has a calm, willing
disposition. Has been started on ground
work, including lunging, saddling and
bridling. He loads well and trailers
well.
He will be approx. 14.3-15:1HH when he is full grown.
A good colt, sound in mind and body and he'll
be a good, solid, handsome horse
when he's done growing.
He
would make an excellent 4H project horse.
Above photo is as a yearling.

Pictured
here is Major during his first saddling
experience.
These photos were taken for an advertising
promotion. We took Major from the 100 acre
pasture, where he'd been running with his
mother all summer, and haltered him and
saddled him. He took it in stride as if
he does it everyday. Proof of his calm,
quiet disposition.
He is approximately 5 months old in these pics.
Major
was weaned in December and is handled about
two - three times per week.
(Haltered and taken for a walk,
worked gently with pressure and release
lessons to move his various body parts.)

Pictured above is Major, during his first
haltering experience at two weeks. |
