Soundness: No known health problems
Vices: Has pulled back when tied - we
are working with her on this and she is
improving. Is an aggressive Alpha type
mare in the pasture.
Known History: This was mare was sold
to us with the following history - we were told
she was broke to ride as a young horse and
used for trail riding. Then she was sold
to a young girl who knew nothing about
horses. The girl got on the horse one
time - the horse reared up enough that the
girl slid off the back and she never got back
on the horse again. The horse was kept
as a pet and was in a pasture for the next
number of years until we got her.
Our Observations: This is a very
nice mare that was started well when she was
young. She longes like a pro and loads
by throwing the rope over her back and
pointing her into the trailer. She
stands decently for saddling, bridling and
mounting. She over reacts to new things
sometimes but quickly quiets down when she
realizes they are nothing to be afraid
of. She would do VERY WELL with someone
who wants a one-on-one relationship with a
horse that they will spend a lot of time with.
She's got the build and looks to be a show
horse and she's athletic enough for gymkhana.
PICTURES DO NOT DO THIS HORSE JUSTICE - SHE IS
A MUST SEE MARE.
September 14, 2007 We have been
continuing groundwork with Dash and she is
coming along very well. She seems to be
doing well with riding as well. She
willingly steps out when asked to walk and
trot. She hasn't given any indications of
undesirable behavior in anything we've asked
her for so far. We will continue to take
things slowly with her and make sure that her
foundation is solid. We are still
asking $1250 for her for a quick fall sale but
if we keep her til spring she will likely be
in the $2000 range. Here's a great opportunity
for someone to pick up a really good deal on a
horse with tremendous potential.

September
4th, 2007 We have been doing lots and
lots of groundwork with Dash and our initial
evaluation was a bit off. We originally
thought maybe she had been well started but
never progressed beyond a certain point.
After a bunch of ground work and a couple of
short rides we are thinking more that it has
just been so long since she has had to think
of any of her previous training that it is
just taking her a little while to
remember. The more time we spend with
her the more we find that she is a very nice
mare. She needs someone to spend one on
one time with her and continue her
training. We are now asking $1250 for
her. We are interested in trades + cash,
especially a pony or mini, but all will be
considered. This is a quality mare.
August
2007: Dash
is new to our place. Her previous owners
said she takes a bit of time to adjust to each
new situation but once she realizes everything
is okay she settles right down. We
concur, this seems to be her pattern. We
are slowly easing her into riding. We
let her settle for a couple days. Today
we longed her and she was fine - a bit flighty
at first but then quickly settled down.
She squares up nicely and seems to have had
some halter experience.

WE
DO TAKE PARTIAL TRADES ON ALL OF OUR HORSES -
WE ARE ESPECIALLY INTERESTED IN OLDER BROKE
HORSES, EVEN WITH HEALTH PROBLEMS. WE
